Kaspar's bag -- deer-elk :D

This is a gift for Kaarel-Kaspar for his birthday [link] I wanted to make something cool and useful at the same time. Since we are both re-enactors, I made him a pouch-bag. The model of it should fit into the age (our Iron Age, Viking Age in more common terms). The ornamentation is my original design though.

I wanted to make deers with biiiig majestetic horns. This however was my second attempt in leather ornamentation. So naturally mistakes were made and all did't work out as planned. The deers become elks. But since elks are majestetic too, I'm willing to live with this.

Working with thick leather was a lot harder, but I managed to survive. I did cut into the bag though (lucikly the fastening belt covers this place), so glue came to the rescue. I was so afraid the bag will be all ribbons and waste though, that I waited patiently until the next day and let my instructor finish cutting the hole.

The bag is made almost completely by me. Only coloring was done by Egge Edussaar, who helped and instructed me.
